Welcome to our cozy corner of NYC! Nestled in the heart of the city that never sleeps, our 1-bedroom, 1-bath apartment is a testament to the magic of minimalism and the beauty of beige tones. Moving into this space with my fiancé was difficult to manage from a decor perspective (because it couldn’t be entirely girly and pink), but I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Today, I’m thrilled to share all of the exact details of our apartment… Get ready to be inspired!
Let’s start off with the grand tour of the apartment and then we will get into the details of each item for you!
The LivingRoom
Our living room is the heart of our apartment, where we spend most of our time. It’s all about comfort and style, and we achieved it with these essentials:
Sofa: Customized on West Elm. Here are the exact details – left bench cushion 2-piece chase sectional with storage with standard depth, in chunky boucle in sand.
Rug: Softest thing I’ve ever felt. We get SO many compliments on this.
Throw Pillows for Sofa: They just bring everything together. We have 3 on our sofa, one big & one small on the left and one medium on the right.
TV Console: Gives us so much extra storage (4 sections in there) and I love how it is fluted.
Coffee Table: A sleek, fluted coffee table with clean lines that adds a touch of sophistication. It is the perfect size to go with our couch.
Bar Cart: Holds everything that we need, plus it’s aesthetic, perfect for entertaining guests, & was from Amazon.
Blankets: Softest blankets to ever exist. If you are looking for that cozy & incredibly soft blanket, this is the one for you.
Floor Lamp: Minimalist lamp that adds extra light (since our apartment has barely any ceiling lights).
Mirror: Perfect for those OOTD pictures and to open up the space – I love the size of it.
Side Table: Debatably might be my favorite piece of furniture in the entire apartment.
Coasters: Loved how they are wood looking – they fit into our space perfectly and we use them everyday.
The Kitchen
Our kitchen is small but mighty. To maintain the minimalistic charm, we focused on functional yet stylish items:
Kitchen Table: It is from West Elm, but I got it at a West Elm outlet! Perfect for small spaces – love the gold & marble combination.
Chairs: Customized on West Elm. Here are the exact details – Yarn Dyed Linen Weave, Sand, Light Bronze.
Bar Stools: Customized on West Elm. Here are the exact details – Distressed Velvet, Sand, Light Bronze
Hanging Cabinet: This holds all of our glassware (which was accidentally so helpful).
Dinnerware Set: Easy and perfect, love how simple it is and it has held up great.
Fruit Bowl: The most aesthetic, fun fruit bowl I’ve ever seen. Jonathan Adler always is a 10/10.
Placemats: They are bit textured, but fit into our space perfectly.
Olive Oil Container: The prettiest way to leave your olive oil out! This was actually a registry gift that we received.
Pots & Pans Organizer: Also a game changer if you have a lot of cluttered pots and pans. Makes using them so much easier.
Mini Le Creuset: Yes, you can use this to bake and cook – but we use it for flakey salt! It couldn’t be cuter.
Pull Out Spice Rack: So useful if you have a small cabinet like we did. 11/10 for this.
Fluted Coffee Cups: The most aesthetic coffee cups that are dishwasher safe, and I promise will make your morning that much prettier.
The Bedroom
Our bedroom is a cozy, cloud-like retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Here’s how we achieved the perfect balance of minimalism and comfort:
SoftFrame Bed: The softest bed that gives you the coziest vibe. The exact details of ours is a 9 inch standard king in the fabric boucle. They are made to order. For how the bed arrived/we put it together, you can watch HERE.
White Decorative Ladder: I’ve had this for years and is the perfect way to show off your decorative pieces / fill in an empty wall space. I have also put pins on the bottom for extra storage space in the past.
Floor Lamp: Different & trendier than your traditional light which I loved. I added a bigger bulb than your traditional one with it.
Gold Knobs: Changed the knobs on my vanity and drawers to these chic gold knobs instead to match the space. They were super easy to put on.
Art Above Bed: Minimalist wall art that ties the room together. Sadly, the exact one that I have does not have a link, but they have so many similar versions on Etsy or you could DIY it.
Vanity Desk: An essential for all my girls. The drawers are not large enough to keep all of my makeup, but is perfect for jewelry and accessory storage.
Vanity Mirror: Love how it lights up & is adjustable – plus it is from Amazon.
Dresser: Matches our bedside tables and perfect to split – 3 drawers each!
Bedside Tables: Sadly these are no longer available, but here is a very similar option!
Weighted Blanket: Can’t sleep without this! Plus it looks perfect to leave out on your bed when you make it.
Acrylic Shelves: Perfectly if you need extra space, or want to put something on display (like how I have perfume & accessories).
The Makeshift Office
Working from home has become the new normal, and we wanted to ensure our apartment provided the perfect office setup without sacrificing style. Here’s how we created our functional yet chic office space:
Desk: A minimalist beige, fluted desk that has incredible storage and a large workspace.
Desk Chair: Not only does this chair match the desk perfectly, but it rolls around, is adjustable in height, and has arm rests.
Desk Lamp: Perfect for working at this desk at the hutch provides a bit more darkness in the workspace.
The Little Details
It’s the small touches that make the prettiest difference. Our most asked about decor items:
Peel & Stick Wallpaper: The main event that everyone is bewildered by when they enter the apartment. This is the perfect way to add a little extra touch to your space. HERE is some behind the scenes of putting it up – my mom is a queen at peel & stick wallpaper.
Mounted Drying Rack: Life. Changing. No more bringing out the drying rack to be in everybody’s way, just to put it away and take it right back out again (lol).
Entry Way Mirror: Goes perfectly with the desk and love how it has a part to hang keys, leave items, etc.
Big Bag Vase: The bigger, less expensive version on the Rosenthal mini bag vase. You can actually put flowers in this one.
Acrylic Bookstand Display: Perfect to display a coffee table book that you never open or a photo album for everyone to see.
Calories Canister: From Jonathan Adler, and they sell so many variations with different sayings and in different colors of this jar.
Cookie Jar: The Kardashian Cookie Jar – loved how large this one was. They key is to only have people eat from the middle so that the jar always looks pretty.
CB2 Fluted Bowl: Another registry gift that is so beautiful and would also look so great in the center of a table, etc.
